HOW DO I MAKE A RETURN OR EXCHANGE?

Request a return authorization by emailing us via our contact form. Authorization will be granted or denied within 2-3 business days upon review. Be sure to include your original order number for fastest processing.

A prepaid return label will be provided only for orders where the part is defective on arrival (DOA) or we (Sparksmith) have made a mistake (i.e. wrong part shipped or damaged in transit). All other returns will have shipping paid by the customer. Shipping for the original order can not be refunded under any circumstances. 

Due to the nature of our products, Sparksmith does not accept returns on custom parts (lens etching, projector tuning service, custom headlights, etc.), un-sealed HID bulbs, or any items in our Closeouts section. Our standard restocking fee structure is outlined below.

  • Tier 1: Perfect condition. (Unopened & like-new) = 100% refund or 100% store credit.
  • Tier 2: Re-conditionable. (Packaging opened or damaged) = 80% refund or 90% store credit.
  • Tier 3: Inability to restock. (Product & packaging both damaged) = 70% refund or 80% store credit.

WHAT IS OUR EXCHANGE POLICY?

Parts may be exchanged if they are in like-new condition with their original unopened packaging for credit towards anything else in-stock.  Exchanges must be made within 60 days of the original purchase date. For example, you ordered projector "X" but changed your mind and now want to use projector "Y". If your returned part(s) cannot be restocked as "new" we reserve to right to deny the exchange or prorate the value of your exchange. If you need to make a rushed exchange, you can order the new part first and then return the original for a refund without being subject to any restocking fees on the “exchanged” item, subject to the conditional restocking fee outlined above. HOW ARE SHIPPING COSTS HANDLED ON PARTS RETURNS/EXCHANGES?

(This does not include any custom build assembly or customized product. See below for our policies regarding custom products)

The customer is responsible for shipping costs to and from our shop. However, if the exchange is necessary because of our mistake, we will cover all shipping charges involved.

WHAT IS THE WARRANTY ON MY PARTS?

Please refer to the products listing page for specific warranty information, as it varies depending on the brand, configuration, etc. All warranties are non-transferrable and are only applicable to the original purchaser.

WHAT IS THE POLICY ON MY CUSTOM PARTS?

Custom parts are defined as headlights, tail lights, or any other part or product modified in any way from the original manufacturer’s condition. These customer parts are subject to the following special terms of warranty coverage, exchange, repair, or replacement. Returns are not accepted on custom parts.

LABOR WARRANTY

All custom work created by Sparksmith is warranted against defects in labor and craftsmanship for a period of one year, beginning at the date of delivery or installation. This includes warranty against moisture, physical parts installation, paint quality, and other effects of labor and workmanship. Any defect that is a direct result of our labor efforts will be repaired at no labor cost to the original purchaser within the one year warranty period. A discounted labor rate will be applied to any repairs made at any point thereafter. If ownership of the custom part is transferred, the discounted labor rate will apply to any repairs made to any part transferred to a new owner, regardless of time frame since installation or delivery.

Sparksmith is not liable for any damage or problems encountered during installation by anyone other than direct employees of Sparksmith, LLC, regardless of qualifications. If Sparksmith does not handle the installation and something gets broken or damaged during installation, we are not responsible.

PARTS WARRANTY ON CUSTOM PART

The manufacturer’s warranty will generally apply to all parts installed in a custom build - some exceptions apply. Any parts failure within the stated warranty period of the part will be remedied at no parts cost to the original owner.

LABOR COST IS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY PARTS WARRANTY.

The parts are free, the installation thereof is not. A discounted labor rate will apply for any parts that Sparksmith installs or replaces on any custom build.

SHIPPING POLICY FOR CUSTOM PARTS

If your custom parts must be shipped back to us due to a labor warranty claim, we will cover shipping one way. The customer is responsible for getting the parts delivered to Sparksmith. Sparksmith will cover return shipping once the claim is assessed in person and any necessary repairs made. The most economical shipping method available for the custom part will be used. Expedited shipping is available at additional cost to the customer

If your custom parts must be shipped back to us due to a parts warranty claim, the customer is responsible for shipping both ways. The customer is also responsible for any labor costs (at a discounted rate) incurred for any repairs made as a result of parts failure. We will help with these costs to the extent reasonable and practicable.

LABOR RATE

The current labor rate for all work done by Sparksmith is $110 per hour. This applies to any labor on any parts installation or custom work performed by Sparksmith.
